Social Media Optimization (SMO)

We know already that SEO (Search Engine Optimization) is a thriving business. SEO means more visitors to a Web site through search engines, by that website optimization for high scores in those search engines. My personal view: SEO as private industry is doomed to disappear, and will be split between technical SEO by the web pages, and linkbaiting by advertising and PR firms. SEO has also (now less than before) to count with the necessary 'cowboys', which tricks false (so-called black hat) to high-scoring, or worse still, simply air sales to their customers.

Now this is clearer every day, and every small player SEO record in its services, starting with the top to move.

Wam! A new concept, a beautiful recognizable term stuck out, and new promises of quick profits. Here, the Social Media Optimization.
The idea behind this new bottle Snake oil is that the mass of new visitors not only through search engines, but more and more through the Social Media sites like Myspace, Youtube etc.

Social Media Optimization (SMO) is a discipline to your site as to set up for convenient in those websites and disseminated. The term was launched last year, and you see more and more articles about pop up. I predict that within a short time 'packages' SMO will be offered for sale.

Let me make it clear: there is no magic wand that you can release it on your site, to suddenly end masses to attract much traffic.

All you have to do is obey the law of the first Sabbe: "Everything that does not meet the fundamental nature of the Internet, it will fail miserably on the internet." And the fundamental nature of the Internet is open, portable, connected, micro, intelligence at the edges. So make sure you uniquely addressable urls for each article you let your content independently, including RSS, generous link, take part in the right communities ...

In other words, make a good site, and he will automatically optimized for Social Media. Create content that added value, in a technically efficient and properly made framework ( 'networking' is the term I believe), and above all: be positive.........

If you are a web designer, a couple of your keywords would be web design and web designer. You may want it to be more specific, if you were based in Birmingham one of your keywords could be web designer in Birmingham. I think you will understand the meaning of a keyword by now. It is very important that all of your keywords appear on your homepage. This helps the major search engines to locate your site for those keywords. You will be amazed how many webmasters do not include their keywords on their homepage, a basic but very important mistake.

When promoting your website you should first make yourself familiar with the guidelines of each of the major search engines, especially Google. These guidelines are updated on a regular basis therefore you should also read them on a regular basis.

Backward links are all the rage, some SEO experts say that the more links you can obtain, the higher your site will rank on the major search engines.

I think for a novice or beginner the best and easiest way to obtain backward links is via article marketing. Writing articles and submitting them to sites such as ezinearticles and goarticles has proven to be a very popular and beneficial form of web promotion for many years, it is also likely to stay this way for many years to come. It is also free so what could be better? I have had some outstanding results from article marketing and am sure that you will to. Good luck with promoting your website.
